IMPORTANT: These Terms contain an arbitration agreement and class action waiver (Section 14) that affect your legal rights. Please read them carefully. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of accepting these Terms.
About “account” language below: SATellar does not use server-side accounts. Your practice data, display name, and settings live only on the device where you installed the app. Uninstalling the app removes all local data. The sections below describe account-style rights in their strongest form for legal compliance, but in practice they are satisfied by our local-only architecture.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the SATellar mobile application and website (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms referenced herein. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SATellar ("SATellar," "we," "us," or "our").

2. Eligibility

Minimum age: You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 17, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). See our Privacy Policy for details.

Account Registration

You may create an account using email, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. One account per person — do not share, transfer, or sell your account.

3. Description of Service

SATellar provides original SAT-style practice questions, adaptive difficulty adjustment, score prediction, performance analytics, session tracking, leaderboard rankings, and related educational features. The Service is offered as a free tier with limited sessions, paid subscription tiers, and individual session credit packs.

Session credits do not expire and are non-refundable. We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal date.

5. Auto-Renewal and Cancellation

CALIFORNIA AUTO-RENEWAL DISCLOSURES

In accordance with the California Automatic Renewal Law (Business and Professions Code sections 17600–17606), we provide the following disclosures. Please read carefully.

5.1 Automatic Renewal Terms

YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WILL AUTOMATICALLY RENEW AT THE END OF EACH BILLING PERIOD (MONTHLY OR ANNUALLY) UNLESS YOU CANCEL BEFORE THE END OF THE CURRENT PERIOD. By subscribing, you acknowledge and agree that:

  1. Your subscription will automatically renew at the then-current price for your selected plan, plus applicable taxes, unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period.
  2. For monthly subscriptions, your payment method is charged each month on the date of your initial purchase. For annual subscriptions, you are charged once per year on the anniversary of your purchase.
  3. The renewal charge will be at the same rate unless we have given you prior notice of a price change.
  4. Each renewal term is the same length as your initial term (one month or one year).

5.2 Affirmative Consent

By tapping "Subscribe," "Purchase," or any similar button and providing your payment credentials, you provide your affirmative consent to the automatic renewal terms described in this Section 5 and authorize Apple or Google to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

5.3 How to Cancel

You may cancel your subscription at any time:

Apple App Store (iOS):

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then tap "Subscriptions."
  3. Tap the SATellar subscription.
  4. Tap "Cancel Subscription" and confirm.

Google Play Store (Android):

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap the profile icon, then "Payments & subscriptions," then "Subscriptions."
  3. Select the SATellar subscription.
  4. Tap "Cancel subscription" and follow the instructions.

You may also cancel by contacting us at [email protected]. We will process cancellation within three (3) business days.

Upon cancellation, you retain access to paid features through the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for the unused portion of a billing period.

5.4 Confirmation

Upon subscribing, you will receive a confirmation via email or in-app notification that includes the auto-renewal terms, cancellation policy, and recurring charge amount.

5.5 Free-to-Try Credits

New users receive 2 free session credits on first launch. Credits are spent at the start of any practice session (math, english, or combo), have no expiration date, and no payment information is required to use them. Unused credits are not transferable and are forfeited if you uninstall the app.

If we offer a time-based free trial in the future, that trial would automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before it ends. We do not currently offer time-based free trials.

5.6 Platform Billing

All payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. SATellar does not directly process or store payment card information. Refund requests must be directed to the applicable platform:

6. Intellectual Property

All questions, explanations, scoring algorithms, adaptive systems, app design, code, graphics, and logos ("SATellar Content") are the exclusive property of SATellar and are protected by U.S. and international intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SATellar Content solely for personal, non-commercial educational purposes. You may not:

All practice questions in SATellar are original works created independently. Our questions are not sourced from, copied from, or endorsed by any standardized test administrator.

7. College Board Trademark Disclaimer

SAT® is a registered trademark of College Board, which is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, SATellar. The College Board has no involvement in the production of this product. All references to "SAT" are used solely to identify the test for which the Service provides preparation, in a descriptive and nominative fair use capacity. SATellar is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or connected to the College Board or the Educational Testing Service (ETS).

8. Educational Disclaimer

SATellar does not guarantee any specific test score, score improvement, college admission outcome, or other academic result.

Predicted scores and performance analytics are approximations based on your practice performance within the app. They are study guidance tools and should not be relied upon as predictions of actual SAT performance. Actual scores depend on factors outside our control, including test content, test-day conditions, prior preparation, and personal circumstances.

9.3 Leaderboard Integrity

Manipulating rankings through exploits, bots, multiple accounts, or other dishonest means is prohibited and will result in immediate account termination.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time by:

  1. Permanently delete your account and all associated data (practice history, scores, preferences) within 30 days
  2. Remove your username and data from the leaderboard
  3. Send you a confirmation when complete

Important: Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription. You must cancel your subscription separately through Apple or Google (see Section 5.3). Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Unused session credits and remaining subscription time are forfeited.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and share your information. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that results will be accurate, or that errors will be corrected. Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties; in such cases, our warranties are limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SATELLAR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (a) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SATELLAR IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (b) $100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including under the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act.

14. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

14.1 Informal Resolution

Before initiating formal proceedings, you and SATellar agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting [email protected] with a written description, relevant information, and the relief sought. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 60 days.

14.2 Binding Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, either party may initiate binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall be conducted in English, in the county where you reside or San Francisco County, California (your choice). For claims under $10,000, arbitration may be conducted by phone or video.

14.3 Arbitration Fees

For claims under $10,000, SATellar will pay all JAMS filing and arbitrator fees (unless found frivolous). For claims between $10,000 and $75,000, SATellar pays filing fees and arbitrator fees exceeding court filing costs. Above $75,000, fees follow JAMS rules.

14.4 Class Action Waiver

YOU AND SATELLAR AGREE THAT DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS ONLY, NOT AS A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. If this waiver is unenforceable for a particular claim, this Section 14 is severable for that claim, and it proceeds in court.

14.5 Opt-Out Right

You may opt out of arbitration by sending written notice to [email protected] within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Include your name, account email, and a statement that you wish to opt out.

14.6 Exceptions

Either party may bring claims in small claims court or seek injunctive relief for intellectual property violations in any court of competent jurisdiction.

14.7 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict of law principles, except as preempted by the Federal Arbitration Act.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version. For material changes (including changes to arbitration, pricing, or auto-renewal terms), we will provide at least 30 days' notice via in-app notification or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you disagree, stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.

16. Changes to Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. If we permanently discontinue a paid feature, we will provide a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of your current billing period.

17. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases and your data may be deleted after a reasonable retention period. Sections 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, and 18 survive termination.

18. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SATellar, its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any law or third-party rights.
